TALKING ELMO HAS LOTS TO SAY
Talking Elmo has touch-sensitive spots on hand, foot, tummy, back and nose. He does different things depending on where you press, and he does a few things apparently on his own!
Talking Elmo is no fool. If he falls over, he begs for help. If you squeeze his nose he may sneeze or engage in in a that classic game of "Got your nose". He tells stories and jokes while moving in such a 'lifelike' manner that your child may think the original Sesame Street Elmo has come to live at your house!
He tells you that he loves you and he blows kisses. If you touch his back, he may ask you for a hugs or ask you to scratch his itch. If he asks for a hug, he says, "thank you" if he gets one. Interactive features like this make Talking Elmo more like a friend than a toy.
Elmo still raps, performing "Elmo's Gotta Get On Up" and boogying right on down with the music.
And if Talking Elmo is left alone for a while, he yawns, declares that he's tired, and puts himself to sleep, which can really save money on batteries!
FINDING TALKING ELMO
Fisher-Price, with 12 years of experience selling Elmo dolls, feels they can predict the supply needed to meet demand and expect they won’t face the same shortages experienced with the original Tickle Me Elmo. But they admit they have no plan for resupply shipments until early 2009, and that the retail shipments they have planned for the 2008 holidays are all there is. If Talking Elmo should become as popular as previous Elmo toys, they won't be able to manufacture or ship more until February or March.
